Leidos is seeking a Junior Software Developer in Bethesda, MD.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Leidos has an opening for an energetic, motivated, and self-starting software developer to support the High Fidelity Simulation business area that provides state of the art training and tactical decision aids systems.
Candidate will primarily support the software development of Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems, including sonar tactical decision aids (TDAs) across multiple code baselines. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex software systems plus a willingness to learn new programming languages.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Familiar with agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
•Be able to work in an agile team environment supporting a staff of 80+ personnel
•Experience with an object oriented programming language, such as C++ or Java
•Experience using web technologies, such as REST, JSON, XML, and JavaScript including client frameworks such as Angular or server side such as nodejs
•Familiar working with other JVM languages, such as Scala or Groovy
•Be able to multi-task, change gears quickly, and immediately execute emergency requests
•Demonstrated ability of taking the initiative to accomplish a task
•Demonstrate an ability to learn and apply new skills
•Demonstrate an ability to identify and solve problems
•Be able to communicate clearly (both orally and in writing)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Recent Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in Engineering or Computer Science
•Ability and desire to program in a C++/Java environment and related languages
•Able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
•U.S. Citizenship is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•18 months of practical software development experience
