Leidos is searching for a multi-talented Unreal Programmer (100% telework) for an upcoming opening to join our studio with an existing team of artists, programmers, and designers in creating “cutting edge” Virtual Reality (VR) and PC advanced training for the United States Air Force. Our client is a visionary leader that is bringing VR and digital training to the forefront of Air Force technical and specialty training for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) analyst and operators around the world. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your proven AAA industry experience to create realistic and immersive environments for U.S. Air Force training.
As an Unreal Programmer, your focus will be on execution in both single player and cooperative multiplayer game play environments in both PC and VR. You will collaborate with a Creative Director and production team to develop comprehensive virtual trainers for the U.S. Air Force. This is a where your passion for gameplay and interactivity comes to life by creating innovative and immersive training.
Responsibilities:
Develop realistic and immersive VR experiences, leveraging Unreal engine.
You will be required to bring to life digital models that include but not limited to military aircraft, weapons, vehicles, communication equipment, environmental elements (trees, sky, water, landscapes etc.) for use within digital training applications for PC and VR.
Work with a team of engineers to design features ranging from technical, visual, and artistic.
Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the final product’s development.
Serve as a voice of expertise willing to mentor, share, and evangelize your knowledge of the Unreal engine internally.
Qualifications:
Must possess 6+ years of direct experience utilizing Unreal Engine on professional projects in the video game industry, architecture, advertising, film, simulations or Defense industry.
Bachelor’s degree (experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
Strong level of understanding of all aspects of C++, the Unreal editor, Blueprint, code, and engine.
Deep understanding at developing dynamic gameplay-related systems.
Experience using Perforce for source control and JIRA for task management.
Ability to debug and optimize code.
Experience with scripting languages and component-based game engines.
A seasoned programmer who can execute tasks with minimal supervision.
Experienced working under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong knowledge of VR and PC development fundamentals.
Strong writing and verbal communication skills with a proactive team-oriented mindset.
Desire to both teach others and learn new techniques in the Unreal Engine.
Strong work ethic that strives for continuous process improvement and production efficiency
Ability to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment in a 100% remote working environment.
Ability to obtain security clearance (requires US citizenship).
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00#Remote
