Leidos has an upcoming opening for an experienced 2D Artist to join our studio with an existing team of artists, programmers, and designers in creating “cutting edge” Virtual Reality (VR) and PC advanced training for the United States Air Force. Our client is a visionary leader that is bringing VR and digital training to the forefront of Air Force technical and specialty training for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) analyst and operators around the world. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your proven AAA industry experience to create stunning photorealistic digital art for U.S. Air Force training.
As a 2D Artist, you will create UI-UX designs, game interfaces, and marketing artwork for a wide variety of virtual training applications. We are looking for your creativity, experience, and positive energy to create the Defense industries most immersive and comprehensive training. Projects include building digital twins of military aircraft, vehicles, eBooks, military hardware and replicating physical environments.
UI-UX design for eBooks (very similar to web design)
Game interface designs for use in virtual training products (VR and PC)
Design and layout of marketing brochures, posters, and slick sheets
6+ years of experience as a 2D Artist in design, games, films, or related industries
Bachelor of Art degree or 4 years equivalent industry experience
Online portfolio showcasing a wide variety of UI-UX designs, game interfaces, graphic design, web design, etc.
Strong understanding of typography, iconography, and logo design
Solid photo editing capabilities
Rapid wireframing experience with the ability to generate multiple ideas quickly
Strong understanding of best practices for mobile UI design
Strong understanding of industry standard software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Ability to take critique and direction and implement feedback without rework
Engage with production team to stay current on task tracking and scheduling
Experience working in an iterative, agile environment
Good communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Motivated, self-directed, personable with strong verbal communication skills
Experience using Perforce for source control and JIRA for task management
Strong work ethic that strives for continuous process improvement and production efficiency
Ability to obtain security clearance (requires US citizenship)
Ability to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment in a 100% teleworking environment
Motion graphics experience using After Effects and Premier (for UI-UX prototyping)
HTML5 / CSS3 experience
Experience using UMG to create game interfaces within Unreal Engine
3D modeling and texturing experience
Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00
