Varec, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, has a career opportunity for a Resource Manager in Peachtree Corners, GA.

The Resource Manager is responsible for proactively managing skilled technology resources with the goal developing the DevOps, Test and Test Automation skills and capabilities to support current and future company strategic across the organization. 

The Resource Manager is also responsible for supporting the staffing needs of the DevOps, Test and Test Automation team in support of current and future programs. They will support project staffing needs including but not limited to; project staffing plans, forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, maintaining and upskilling, managing retention of staffing, managing on-boarding, and working with Varec/Leidos human resource personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work within a matrix organization, proactively communicating resource availability and balancing competing priorities from multiple programs and customers.
  • Work closely with current and future programs to establish existing and software development skills requirements.  Manage and respond to changing needs in staffing requirements
  • Establish, maintain and report status against metrics/KPIs that track the performance of the software development department
  • Develop. maintain and promote technical training curriculums with the software development team and beyond.
  • Participate in the development and process improvement of company software development policy and procedures.
  • Ensure all software development policies and procedures maintaining compliance with ISO and other quality standards.
  • Support and assist resources with capturing and managing quarterly and annual performance goals.
  • Proactively seek and respond to feedback on resource performance on programs.
  • Review and manage employee time charging, to ensure all activities are recoded accurately and timely
  • Establish and maintain a calendar, or other, to track availability of developers, program assignments and personal time-off schedule
  • Recruit, interview and screen applicants for technical competence, applicable background and skills, individual goals and the ability to fit in with the organization and function effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative Agile Environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience managing staffing and resource requirements. Experience in project management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both in written and oral platforms) with senior-level managers, program managers, subcontractors, IA, security, HR, subcontractor administrators, and financial personnel.
  • Experience working with Agile software development teams and implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS)
  • Experience provisioning and managing resources within IaaS/Cloud infrastructures (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Experience with automated provisioning and configuration tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or similar technologies
  • Attention to detail, problem solving skills, strong time management skills, willingness to take initiative,
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional cloud certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or similar
  • Professional cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, or similar
