The Defense Group at Leidos has an opening for an Oracle PL/SQL Software Developer to work in our Chambersburg, PA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) mission. In this mission we provide all encompassing IT services to our DoD customer. The project needs a hands on Oracle PL/SQL Developer to build appropriate backend enterprise database applications and processes in an Oracle environment. Work in a team environment to research, design, develop, and support a software system which is undergoing significant modernization.

Responsibilities Include:
- Develop enterprise backend database applications (SQL and PL/SQL) based on requirements and under the guidance of SMEs and NLAC Systems Architect
- Prepare design and development documents. Performs analysis, development and maintenance of standards and metadata.
- Participates in meetings with various leads to understand requirements and build a robust design that meets the NLAC modernization requirements
- Perform query optimization, debugging and tuning to improve performance
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of code.
- Develops and implements unit test cases.
- Participates in design reviews to ensure development adheres to standards & best practices
- Establishes and monitors data quality initiatives as determined by the program
- Interacts with customers, functional teams and development team to gather and define requirements and help build relational data models
- Collaborates in team environment and develop new solutions within a culture that embraces standard processes and delivery of high quality solutions
- Support production operations as required

- Adheres to laws, standards, established guidelines and industry best practices for development and delivery of software applications.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
A BS degree in computer science or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess or be eligible for a Secret clearance.
- Demonstrated Proficiency (4-8 years) in all aspects of database programming using standard tools such as Oracle PL/SQL , SQL Experience with Oracle 12c/18c highly preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL technologies including Triggers, Procedures, Functions and Packages. Must possess strong data analysis skills to support data quality efforts.
- Familiarity of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to analyze issues, assess technical risks, and recommend sound solutions in a timely manner
- Proficiency in analyzing data flows
- Strong working knowledge of SDLC methodology
- Goal oriented and self-motivated
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently (unsupervised) or within a team environment
- Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to create comprehensive engineering documents
- Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
- Ability to learn, excel and deliver at a quick pace is required
- Must be able to explain technical details and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and be able to clearly and concisely explain system concepts and problems
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
Active Secret Security Clearance
Security + certification
- Proficiency in Oracle ODI – including customizing Knowledge Modules using PL/SQL and/or Java
- General knowledge of DISA STIGS and how they influence and establish best-practices within the IT environment
