We are in search for a Windows/Linux System Administrator (Level 3), with Linux experience to work at our customer site at the National Maritime Intelligence Center, Suitland, MD. In this role you will provide specialized Cyber Security and Information Technology (IT) support for IT resources and users, underpinning Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) analysis and production across the Farragut Technical Analysis Center at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI).
Note: Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, and one of the following certifications to be considered: CISSP or CASP ce
THE MISSION
Support and maintain Farragut Specialized Mission IT Systems include support to FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER (TAC) Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) Department (TAC-6) Analysts who process data delivered to ONI on portable media.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
•Responsible for the System Administration for TAC Windows and LINUX RHEL Mission Applications, including the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. These responsibilities include management of systems infrastructures, identifying and implementing best practices and recommending system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure and implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
•Coordinate across IT domains and multiple teams (internal and external) and influence Farragut leadership regarding solution design, process and/or approaches to ensuring all Windows and Linux systems are up-to-date, working efficiently and ensure all mission requirements are met.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
•Backup and Restoration: Ensure no undocumented potential or actual loss of data from Mission Systems thru combination of sound system configurations and scheduled / confirmed backups of Mission Systems, system configurations, and resident data.
•Schedule Maintenance Activities: Plan, schedule, and obtain Government pre-approval for all maintenance activities that may disrupt use of TAC Mission Systems or TAC Mission Applications.
•License Serving: Maintain and manage license serving, monitoring, and reporting of licensed TAC-owned Mission Applications.
•Change Management: Provide written recommendations to update mission applications prompted by events such as OS Updates, other software updates, or requests from users for newer functionality recognized as valuable.
•Provision Storage: Liaise with Hopper ISC to provision enterprise public and system related Windows and LINUX-based storage as necessary for TAC-owned Mission Applications. •
-Lifecycle Replacement of Hardware: Analyze systems, and provide a white paper with written recommendations and specifications for the replacement of all system hardware prior to its planned end of life date.
-Desktop Support: Repair, replace, and service desktop computers, laptops, and computer peripherals associated Farragut Specialized IT not under the care of Hopper Information Services Center.
WHAT SETS YOU APART (minimum job qualifications)
•A Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field, with 8+ years of relevant work experience; additional years of related work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
•Experience with Windows Systems and LINUX Administration
•Proficient with Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016
•Experience with Microsoft Clustering Services – SQL and File Clustering
•Proficiency with hardware and software components of Windows and LINUX operating systems, in a large operating environment
•Proficient in topology of Storage Area Network and its Support
•Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
•Up to 10% of travel may be required
Certification Requirements (one of the following)
•Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
•CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) ce
Security Clearance Requirement
An active DoD Top Secret/SCI
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE (preferred)
•Master’s Degree and Security + per DOD 8140 Requirements.
•EC-Council Network Security Administrator (NSA)
•CNSSI/NTSSI 4015-Systems Certifiers
•CNSSI/NTSSI 4016-Risk Analysts
•In depth knowledge of CISCO routers and switches.
•Large data center experience
•Experience with VMWare setup, configuration, operation and troubleshooting
