Job Description:
As Senior Security Specialist the incumbent shall:
Provide expertise as Security Specialist within the Leidos UK Civil Business areas on security policy requirements, industry security best practice and business security risks
Develop and implement security policy and procedures to meet Corporate and contractual security requirements
Conduct background screening against all new staff requiring access to Leidos UK Civil sites, systems and assets and process any higher level clearances
Undertake site physical security risk assessments and implement and maintain compliant and effective physical security controls across the Civil UK estate
Identify, log and manage identified security risks within the Leidos UK Security Risk Management framework
Provide assurance of compliance with contractual security obligations including supply chain security requirements
Provide security input and support to UK bids and projects
Develop and deliver Security Education and Awareness Initiatives
Lead Crisis Management activities and support business wide contingency planning and continuity of operations arrangements
Manage security related incidents, lead security investigations and produce incident reports
Conduct internal audits and spot checks of compliance with security policies and procedures
Facilitate external security audits and other Customer security assurance activities
Establish relationships and effectively liaise with relevant local and national Authorities and Customers
Provide out of hours support where emergency specialist security is required

Technical
The incumbent shall have proven skills in:
Security risk assessments (physical and personnel)
Security incident management and investigations
Establishing a strong security culture
Assuring Security compliance

Agility to effectively respond to ever adjusting business needs
Ability to be available outside of business hours to provide emergency support
Communication
The incumbent shall be required to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate matters of security risk and compliance to all levels of seniority within the organisation
Strong verbal, written and modern IT skills
Team Working
Work to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches
Maintain good records to allow for continuity of security service to the business
Cross Functional Working
Identify, build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders
Champion security across a diverse geographic estate and business profile
Health & Safety
Always follow and promote Group and Company policies and procedures
Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE properly used

Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication skills
Deep understanding of industry security practices and standards
Experience
Proven experience of successfully managing security within a related industry or military context
Minimum of 3-5 years in an equivalent role
Varied experience across the protective security spectrum:
Physical security risk assessments
Managing physical security systems
Personnel security controls
Security incident management and investigations
Qualifications
Civilian or military relatable qualifications
