Job Description:

Direct Reports;  Workshop Manager

Responsibilities:

● Implement Health and Safety regulations and law.

● Implement ISO9001, ISO14001 and Q1.

● Responsible for the completion of Assembly production and Inspections.

● Achieving production targets and deadlines.

● Work from engineering drawings.

● Inspection including:

Producing bespoke inspection check sheets including detailed photographs, drawings and quick reference guides. Ensuring stage inspections are carried out and documented. Ensuring final inspections are carried out and documented. Assembly Supervisor must himself inspect a minimum of 10% or as instructed by the Workshop manager. Maintenance, servicing and calibration of the Faro Arms and LK machine.

● Assembly scheduling, methods and set ups including:

Producing, implementing and recording set up, close down, on site and returning from site check sheets. Prioritise workload. Manning.

● Assembly area supervision of:

Assembly team leaders Progress chaser

● Responsible for the day to day running of the Welding Bay Including:               

Ordering the correct materials and quantity from the drawings. Ensure component inspection is carried out and take an active role in the quality of Leidos products produced. Producing jigs, fixtures and tooling methods to ensure safe, cost efficient production of components. Ordering Gas and other consumables required for welding.

● Identify and implement safe and efficient systems, assembly and production.

● All Items required to complete production are available prior to starting Assembly.

● Assembly scheduling.

● Give clear direction to the CNC supervisor as to the priority that he should machine components to enable efficient assembly. Prioritise Units on tracking sheets to the order of assembly.

● Packing, documentation and Shipping of products.

● Inform the Workshop Manager and Works Manager if there are any issues preventing you completing production deadlines or targets.

● Communicate with the Workshop Manager and Works Manager giving feedback on all aspects that would affect the delivery and/or quality of our product.

● Positively promote the best interests of Leidos Industrial Engineers at all times.

Other Functions

● Housekeeping (clean, efficient and safe work place).

● Plant, equipment maintenance, calibration and servicing.

Specific responsibilities with regard to Staff issues as below

● All production must be carried out as per the schedule.

● Discipline.

● HR

● Time keeping.

● Key Holders.

● Overtime requirements for Assembly/Inspection area.

● Staff levels, to be discussed with Workshop Manager.

● Drive, inspire, lead and positively motivate Assembly and Inspection personnel.

● Liaise with Mentor services for direction on Health and Safety and HR requirements.
