The GSM-O II program at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to work in our customer site in Ft. Meade Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping government customers achieve the most of their technology investment.
Leidos is seeking a candidate to fill a lead engineer position supporting the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) IP Enablement project at DISA HQ Fort Meade. The candidate will provide technical engineering assistance in support of network configuration, implementation, testing and performance enhancements. Team leadership skills and the ability to manage relationships with DISA’s technical leads are essential. The candidate should be well-rounded with general knowledge of networking, physical and virtual servers, storage, and infrastructure monitoring tools. The candidate should have solid IP or Voice over IP (VoIP) experience. The candidate should be capable of drafting processes and procedures to enhance management, performance and reliability of the infrastructure. A successful candidate will be able to conduct network testing, supervise technology implementations, and evaluate new software applications. The role supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met. Work is performed on a normal 8-4, 9-5 schedule Monday-Friday.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to a diverse team of engineers
Manage relationships with key technical stakeholders
Support technical execution across the system development lifecycle
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 12+ years of professional experience; or 10 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
DoD-8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE)
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience or knowledge of any of the following: Juniper networking, Windows, Linux, Splunk, VMware, SecurityCenter, Cisco ISE, RSA, RadiantOne, Ribbon SBCs, HAIPE
