Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a strategic, analytical, and creative content professional to lead a small team of content strategists and content administrators supporting a family of websites and digital channels on behalf of the federal government. Leverage your audience understanding, build strategies, and establish governance practices to optimize content for citizen discovery, access, and engagement.

Although this position is expected to support various federal agencies, your work will primarily focus on Leidos contracts supporting the U.S. Department of Justice.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a small, multi-disciplinary team of content professionals responsible for shaping content strategy projects and publishing content for a range of federal websites and digital applications.

  • Utilize analytics, user feedback, facilitated sessions, and other user research to understand audience segments and user needs.

  • Support the entire content lifecycle—intake or produce, publish, curate, and measure—sustainable content that resonates with stakeholders and aligns with client objectives.

  • Manage content editorial calendars, inventories, and establish content governance cadence to enhance or archive content throughout the lifecycle.

  • Write headlines and/or copy for new content announcements, short articles, or email newsletters. Coordinate evergreen content and immersive storytelling opportunities that include compelling visuals, interactive infographics, audio, and/or video.

  • Utilize search engine optimization, keyword research, content accessibility, and usability best practices and techniques to optimize content for discovery. Leverage various software platforms, including CMS, search and content optimization, CX, and web analytics tools, to optimize content for user engagement.

  • Leverage website analytics and user research to lead content strategy innovations, leading information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, content organization, sitemaps, and governance enhancements.

  • Ensure formal documentation of content strategy for all websites and digital properties.

  • Develop creative and persuasive artifacts, presentations, and other deliverables to gain stakeholder buy-in to the content strategy and recommended website innovations.

  • Lead content-related and usability efforts for new website design and redesign projects, including coordinating content audit(s), refinement, and migration; and establishing the information architecture.

  • Ensure content meets relevant accessibility and plain language standards.

  • Participate or lead design thinking initiatives involving multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • 8 years or more of experience providing content strategy, web design, UX, or related expertise.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

  • Strong copy writing skills.

  • Knowledge of Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and U.S. Web Design Standards.

  • Experience effectively facilitating collaboration sessions of multi-disciplinary teams into a common goal, such as content strategy documentation.

  • Experience working on a team responsible for web design.

  • The ability to successfully obtain a DOJ-issued Public Trust clearance.

Content Strategy, Usability, or UX-related certification issued by the Nielsen Norman Group, Certification in Human Factors International, Institute of Human-centered Design, or other industry-related certification is preferred but not required.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,900.00 - $126,000.00 - $170,100.00
