The Leidos Defense group is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to provide support at our customer’s site in Albany, GA. Note: Remote work is a possibility for this position. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in supporting the Marine Corps Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM). The U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM) provides globally responsive ground equipment inventory control and integrated operational-level logistics capabilities to maximize Marine Corps materiel readiness and sustainment. The Linux System Administrator will install and upgrade network monitoring tools/software and agents, and monitor network performance to make recommendations to modify configuration to improve performance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing analysis to assist in developing the proper environments and perform load testing using approved tools.
Analyzing system logs to detect and resolve problems and interfacing closely with the Enterprise Backup and Recovery Support team to ensure mission continuity.
Installing, maintaining, configuring RHEL Satellite servers and working with the customer to ensure proper updates are available for implementation.
Documenting procedures for all administration, management, recovery, startup & shut down, interconnectivity, certificates, and remediation.
Mitigating security risks to operating systems, application programs, Web sites, database management systems and other required products.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field from an accredited college or university and 4 to 8 years’ experience; or a Master’s degree and 2 to 6 years’ experience. Additional related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
At least 5 years of Linux Systems Administration experience that includes installing, maintaining, and configuring RHEL Satellite servers to ensure proper updates are available for implementation.
Experience constructing and installing network cabling to support connectivity from application servers to data storage, to include installing, configuring, and managing network devices such as switches/routers etc. (Network Attached Storage, Storage Area Network, Network File System, or similar devices).
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active SECRET level Clearance.
Required Certifications:
COMPTIA SECURITY + or equivalent IA certification
Applicable computing environment (CE) certification for Linux Systems Administrator
Preferred Qualifications:
Current or previous work with the MARCORLOGCOM G6 or other Department of Defense activity as a Linux System Administrator
