Job Description:

Business Development (BD) and Competitive Intelligence (CI) Analyst – BD, Capture Operations & Excellence (CO&E), Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) (Civil)

We are seeking a Business Development (BD) and Competitive Intelligence (CI) analyst to support the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) Operation within the Civil Group. The candidate will work with high-performing business development and capture teams, responsible for securing existing opportunities and winning new business in the Security Detection market. The position reports to the Director of Capture Operations and Excellence (CO&E) within the Business Development organization supporting the SES Operation. The candidate will also work in high visibility projects alongside the Vice President of BD

The BD and CI Analyst will:

  • Capture, maintain, and analyze relevant competitive intelligence to independently formulate and refine timely, market-driven strategies for winning competitive pursuits.
  • Identify/analyze/model competition through research and analysis, including SWOT analysis
  • Determine SES Operation’s winning strategy for multiple small and mid-tier sales opportunities ($1M-$10M), performing gap analysis of our market/industry position
  • Conduct market research on domestic and international trends, regulations, innovations, and key competitors
  • Analyze large amounts of diverse data sets and effectively communicate trends
  • Prepare Position to Win (PTW) materials for gate review process
  • Develop custom and standard business development reports
  • Own and drive weekly meetings for business development strategy and performance metrics review
  • Provides key support to routine and non-routine business development reporting and overall business development support for the organization

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of related experience (Marketing/Business Development) or Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.  Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to interface with different functional groups successfully and comfortably, such as Sales, Program Management, Finance, Contracts, and Operations, at a minimum
  • Functional domain awareness (finance, engineering, program management), business acumen, critical thinking skills, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with acquisition strategies and contracting
  • Strong presentation/communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competitive intelligence and/or market research experience
  • Experience in Business Development and/or Marketing
  • Knowledge and understanding of capture processes and business area products/technologies
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of the Security Detection arena, commercially and internationally
  • Experience in the development and analysis of competitive intelligence and pricing content in the Security Detection arena
  • Pricing/cost and/or CI/PTW background in the commercial, Federal and/or international markets
