DSI has a current opening for an Entry-Junior Level Software Training Specialist to work with our growing Knowledge and Training Team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide training services on IQ to high-profile clients on Capitol Hill, in governors’ offices, in state and local government offices, and in various federal agencies. This is also an opportunity to develop project management skills within the organization.
As a member of the Knowledge Management/Training Team, the successful candidate will perform virtual and in-classroom (pending current pandemic restrictions) sessions to customers. They will support the development of training materials including but not limited to training reports, training scripts, video recordings, PowerPoint slides, and online help content. The Knowledge Management/Training Team is a fast growing and a dynamic group who partners closely with marketing, quality assurance, and software consulting teams and collaborates with other teams across the DSI program, including software engineers and customer support center staff.
The Leidos DSI mission is one that encourages all team members to explore their unique strengths and interests and to use them to enhance and support our Intranet Quorum (IQ) software product at all phases of the software development lifecycle as well as our other processes within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
In this position, the main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Developing or modifying training materials, including lesson scripts, on-line help content, quick reference guides, PowerPoint slides, and attendance training reports.
- Conducting virtual classroom sessions using WebEx or MS Teams to customers or internal staff. Occasional travel to District Offices or Capitol Hill for classroom training may be required (pending on current pandemic guidelines and contract requirements).
- Communicating with customers or internal staff to identify training needs and to provide recommendations as needed.
- Providing input and content for eLearning videos and coordinate with all knowledge management and software support efforts as requested.
Please Note: Full time virtual schedule is in place due to pandemic restrictions. Outside these restrictions, a hybrid work schedule can be arranged with the understanding that on-site work at the Vienna, VA Office a few days a week may be required for training/collaboration or when asked to return to the office.
Required Skills:
- BA/BS degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
- Strong oral, writing, and critical thinking skills needed to assess, document, or explain complex subjects to customers and internal staff. A writing sample is encouraged.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities needed to work independently and to manage schedules and deadlines.
- Agility to learn quickly and flexibility to accommodate training requests and schedules.
- Patience and energy to assist customers’ inquiries and/or concerns.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn new processes or to bring new ideas for the organization.
- Experience with MS Office, MS Teams, WebEx, and eLearning tools.
- Previous training experience in a classroom setting or virtual training.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain Public Trust Security clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using CRM software a plus.
- Familiarity with or experience working in a Congressional office with constituent communications, casework or other services a plus.
