Project Manager - Electric Utilities
Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Project Manager who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers for various clients supported by the Power Delivery Services division.
The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management team that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.
We are currently seeking qualified applicants to provide Project Management Services related to transmission line, substation and distribution line construction projects within our client facilities in the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas regions.
We are specifically looking for Project Manager candidates in the following locations:
Jackson, Mississippi
Little Rock, Arkansas
New Orleans, LA (South LA)
Monroe, LA (North LA)
Greater Houston area, TX
Baton Rouge, LA
Telecommuting - Hybrid Working Structure
If selected your would be reporting to the customers regional office location on a Hybrid schedule (part time remote, part time in office as well as some field visit requirements).

Project Manager - Electric Utilities
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Coordination - Consistently communicate and work with ease across multiple programs and with external and internal stakeholders including client, project teams, functional leadership, subcontractors, and support personnel
Develop program policies, procedures and processes to manage a variety utility projects
Supervise and coach other team members--including delegate work as required
Managing various sized substation project for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
Responsible for overall project performance as well as managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance
Ensures project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
Interfaces directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule and risks across a portfolio of substation, transmission and distribution projects
Interfacing and communicating with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
Prepare and manage prevailing wage and labor compliance plans for construction projects
Review cost estimates and engineering deliverables
Proposal development: including scope, schedule and budget development
Writing comprehensive and technical project reports
To be considered for the following levels:
Mid Level: Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance required with a minimum of four (4) + years of relevant project management experience
Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance required with a minimum of eight (8) + years of relevant project management experience
SME Level: Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance required with a minimum of eight (12) + years of relevant project management experience
Project Manager - Electric Utilities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Business or Finance required with an additional 8+ years’ of relevant Project Management experience or a Masters with 6+ years of relevant Project Management experience
Must demonstrate recent and in-depth expertise in electric power infrastructure projects and transmission and distribution design
PMP Certification is preferred but not required
Must have demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
Periodic travel is required
