Command & Control
Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Life Extension Program (LEP) Division, LEP Pantex System level production planning and execution.
The System Production position supports planning and execution of the NNSA inter-agency efforts in the All-Up Round (AUR) and Ultimate User (UU) production. They provide project management and technical expertise to NNSA and reports on progress, challenges, and issues related to system level production. Serves as an advisor to the System Federal Lead Engineer and Federal Program Manager coordination with the component and maintenance/sustainment/logistics federal and contractor team members as well.
Finally, acting as program liaison with other Defense Programs (DP), NNSA, and Department of Energy (DOE) organizations that support the mission. The System Production position will assist the System Federal Lead Engineer in the direction, management, and coordination of day-to-day operations across the geographically dispersed M&O contractors and advise on matters pertaining to planning, integrating, and executing procedures and resolving issues involving multiple supporting efforts.
Broadly, the duties and responsibilities include:
Providing programmatic assistance, including site reviews, agency meetings, production forecast, and NNSA provisioning meetings.
Reviewing and summarizing production reports for management.
Absorbing broad objectives from management, then independently analyze, evaluate, and integrate solutions for unusually complex and diverse technical problems.
Applying common problem-solving techniques to logistics challenges; proactive identification of potential issues impacting production/delivery schedules and reporting such to the System Lead Engineer; and
Willingness to collaborate with and travel to multiple NNSA Design and Production Agencies and DOD/DOE partners.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
Active DOD TS or DOE Q clearance.
As a mid-career position, 10-15 years of relevant experience in a production environment desired.
Previous experience in DOE Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) production activities desired.
Manufacturing and production floor experience in NNSA, DOD, government or corporate environments required.
NNSA/DOD Interagency experience.
Managing interdisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of program and project management/scheduling tools and techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in writing and editing briefings for senior and executive managers.
Some travel is required; currently anticipated to be in the range of 10-15% per year.
