Leidos is seeking a HIPAA Lead Analyst to join our Washington, D.C. team on a multi-year contract with anticipated start in mid-2022 . The Lead Analyst directs a team of Analysts performing a variety of tasks utilizing on-line research tools, applying statutory/regulatory requirements to determine factual sufficiency of claims. He/she reviews and approves case recommendations and decisions regarding violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and various civil rights laws.
Main Duties include:
Assigns cases to Analysts for initial review and resolution. Reviews the completed triaged lists and case recommendations submitted by Analysts in compliance with policy and guidelines for case processing
Reviews and approves cases submitted by Analysts for consistency and accuracy of technical assistance letters, usage of the most appropriate template; compliance with policy regarding consent from complainants; accuracy of case notes, closure letters, technical assistance letters, and other necessary documents.
Manages caseloads for Analysts; tracks productivity; creates quarterly productivity goals and benchmarks for Analysts
Provides on-going training to Analysts and other staff subject matter, jurisdictional authority, and case processing.
Organizes and conducts new hire orientation and trainings.
Provides quarterly performance feedback and assessments for Analysts
Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree such as JD, MPH, or MPA preferred.
Ability to direct teams to follow prescribed procedures.
Experience reviewing and analyzing complaints and documents.
Excellent analytical capabilities.
Experience managing a busy caseload.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and have familiarity with a variety of computer applications including databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preference for experience working in a law firm and/or government environment.
Experience with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and various civil rights laws.
Advanced degree such as JD, MPH, or MPA
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $32.36/hr.
