Position Overview:
This role will manage and lead the SES Continuous Improvement (CI) team through all activities relating to the skills & data required to drive business outcome improvements. This will include CI training needs for the operational teams, data warehousing and dashboards to provide intelligence and being the custodians of product reliability information & trends. The role will also manage the resources which partner with SES operational teams to solve problems using Lean & Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Lead the SES Continuous Improvement team
- Be the agent for change through establishing relationships with department leaders (Ops, Supply Chain, Quality, Service, and others as required)
- Create, own, and manage the CI roadmap and plans
- Identify CI training needs for operational teams and deliver the plan
- Develop and deliver Lean Six Sigma training to internal customers
- Metric definition, creation & intelligence using BI warehouse & tools for both leading and lagging indicators
- Lean/ Six Sigma project governance including allocation of resources
- Create an environment where the visibility of product reliability enables business decisions
- Hire, mentor, and coach Green/Black Belts
- Develop process enhancement strategies and influence others to accept new ways of working
- Guide & coach the business in best practice and benchmarking activities
- Analyse data and gain insights to understand opportunities and risks
Other Duties:
- Chairing meetings to provide prioritization of business issues
- Champion change in all SES environments
- Challenge the current norms where appropriate
- Partner with other Leidos CI Managers and Share best practices across the enterprise
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Certified Black Belt from a reputable organization (trained in the DMAIC model)
- Experience of leading medium sized teams, creating an environment where individuals flourish and the team succeeds
- Experience working in a matrixed environment
- Deployment of Lean & Six sigma tools and implementing countermeasures that “stick”
- Ability to deploy a range of styles and approaches when putting forward the convincing argument for the need for change
- Ability to influence leaders at all levels to participate in the change process
- Experience of
- Dynamic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively work with stakeholders
Desirable:
- Lean / Six Sigma / Quality qualification
- Experience of negotiating change in a large multi-national organization
- Experience of leading teams remotely across multiple time zones
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience
