Job Description:
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is looking for a Senior Kafka / Elk Developer to provide leadership on a mission-critical program within Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) in Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States. The candidate plays a key role in Enterprise Architecture team with primary focus on development of shared services. He/She will work closely with Chief Architect on the program and assist in development of Program key deliverable based on Leidos proprietary frameworks for near real time data collection, aggregation, enrichment, correlation of data ingested from various data sources and build dashboards with valuable data insights.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
Work with stakeholders to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
Play a key role in the development of data ingestion pipeline using open source products and deployment in Kubernetes environment in AWS cloud
Actively provide feedback while pair programming and in team retrospectives
Basic Qualifications:
10-12 years' development experience
At least 4 years’ experience using Kafka and/or Elk
BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience in deploying, troubleshooting Kafka/ELK based solutions in Kubernetes infrastructure in AWS cloud
Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies; Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, Nexus/Artifactory, Maven
Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
Ability to liaise with government, vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
US Citizenship
Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive understanding and experience programming and designing software using any of the following: Java, J2EE, Angular, ReactJS, Spring MVC, JQuery, JSF, JSP, MyBatis, Hibernate, IBM MQ, Kafka, ELK, PLSQL, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat and AWS cloud services
Demonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering and operations with emphasis on DHS capabilities
Experience with NIST SP 800 series or ISO 27000 series documents for information security management and risk assessment
Demonstrated experience with operating systems such as RedHat Linux and Windows Server
Demonstrated experience in ITIL, ISO20000 / ISO27001 implementations
At least one nationally recognized vendor certification
Cloud Technical, Business or TCO Accreditation
Cloud Architect, DevOps or SysOps Associate or Professional Certification
Active CBP BI
CBP experience
CBPOIT
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00#Remote
