Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team on the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. TFDM is a system that will improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. TFDM is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).

TFDM program is a Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management provides that efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integrated surface traffic control and management system.
Systems Integration Test Engineer responsibilities:
•    Conduct Site Acceptance Testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer
•    Perform dry runs in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present
•    Execute procedures that verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NAS
•    Perform formal test execution with the customer and Quality Assurance organizations present
•    Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
•    Provide status while on site conducting site testing to include but not be limited to daily in-brief/out-brief, status of progress against planned schedule
•    Debug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issues
•    Understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkouts
•    Learn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements
•    Provide guidance to fellow test team members and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestones
•    Collaborate with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirements 
•    Execute commands for remote support staff (ILE/Networking) and provide back feedback to solve problems remotely
•    Perform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizations
•    Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
•    Provide status while on site conducting site testing to include but not be limited to daily in-brief/out-brief, status of progress against planned schedule
•    Able to understand XML data and ability to troubleshoot connection issues with network configurations, IP addresses, JMS queue configurations, etc. 
•    Demonstrate test execution to the FAA on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance milestones for sites
•    Be able to support travel (50% of time)

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years of professional experience; or 2+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
•    Experience with: Scripting, Python, System Integration, Debugging, System Testing, Test Procedures
•    Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer
•    Experience with UNIX/Linux operating, troubleshoot connection /network configurations skills   
•    Experience in following a documented Integration and Test Development Process
•    Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
•    Willing to collaborate with FAA customer on sites to build system knowledge
Desired Skills:
•    Hands-on experience integrating large software systems
•    Understanding or exposure to systems integration and testing practices including requirements analysis and testing complex algorithms
•    External Interface integration checkouts 
•    Analyzing identified issues and help determine a solution
•    Air Traffic Control (ATC) knowledge including control tower procedures
•    Experience with formal test with a government agency/customer
•    Knowledge of interfacing systems in the NAS such as FDIO, STARS, TBFM, ASDE-X
