The Training Manager manages the Services’ Product Training Teams and Product Training Activities in support of our customer and extensive product Training Manager are responsible for assessing the skills, performance, productivity and talents of services training team.

The position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse work staff.  The individual must be capable of decisive and prudent action in the absence of direct managerial guidance.

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: Engineering/Communications degree in related field (industrial, electrical, electronic, mechanical).  Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience is acceptable (>10 years work experience in a related electrical or mechanical field service role).

                         

Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.

Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of Service Management Experience including supervising and Managing Staff.      

Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

Knowledge/Skills: Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork.  Must be responsive to all customer issues at all times.  Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

-Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of customers, the organization, or the industry.  
-Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective. Searching for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among staff
-Supports the strategic and operational use of the Learning Management System (LMS). 
-Provides ongoing development and support of the training team.
-Supports the implementation and use of training support tools.
-Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve. . 
-Coordinate training request of third-party service providers who maintain products on our behalf. 
-Provide basis of estimates for bids/proposals that also require product training (operator and/or maintenance)
-Managing the coordination of on-the-job training for new hires
-Develops new on-the-job training programs
-Produces pricing and quotes for training requirements during bid / proposal processes
-Maintains process to tracks trainee records / certifications
-Works with service team to ensure employee training plans are developed and training goals are met
-Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget. 
-Communicating with management, trainers and team members to ensure that all needs are met
-Measure team performance to set KPIs and Metrics
-Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

-Proven track record of managing dynamic teams in satellite locations. 
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
-Experience with Learning Management System support and operations 
-Proven skills with instructional design methods and a range of software solutions 
-Extremely organized and detail oriented. 
-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
