Leidos is in search of a Business Intelligence Engineer who has experience in BI and ETL Development to join our team based in supporting the contracts at the Social Security Administration.
We are seeking an experienced BI and ETL developer to join a team supporting Data Modeling and Data Administration supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA), Data Administration Data Quality Branch (DADQB), located in Baltimore Maryland.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years' experience in BI related fields with progressively increased level of responsibility in data analysis, data modeling, BI development, database development and SQL experiences. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of BI development life cycle, data architect, metadata management, data marts and related methodologies.
The DADQB a component within the Division of Enterprise Architecture & Data Administration (DEADA). The primary function of the DADQB is to promote quality and consistent data across the agency by aiding in the planning and development of systems.
The ideal candidate will be expected to collaborate with Solution & Enterprise Architects, Business analysts, DBAs and others to understand business requirements. Providing suggestions and guidance to different MI/BI projects, based on best practices, optimal solutions, and project standards will be expected. The ideal candidate will be successful in leading complex discussions and engagements that may involve multiple project teams from client.

The selected candidate will be responsible supporting the DADQB on the following:
- Lead the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field. The candidate will continually assess advancements in technologies to gauge and recommend better solutions for the customer to improve the software developer experience and efficient delivery of software.
- Mentor and coach technical staff, proactively shape product vision, and support multiple internal/external initiatives to achieve mission success. The candidate will have past and proven experiences as the technical lead on large, complex projects, and enterprise solutions.
- Provide technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
- Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
- Experience in BI related fields with progressively increased level of responsibility in data analysis, data modeling, BI development, database development and SQL experiences.
- Good understanding with BI development life cycle, data architect, metadata management, data marts and related methodologies.
- Experience in ETL design and development using any ETL tools such as Informatica and Ab Initio.
- Familiar with data replication methodology tools and technology.
- Experience with data lake, big data, AWS and cloud-based databases, MPP database technologies such as Greenplum and PostgreSQL is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding SQL and data analysis skills
- Experience in data modeling for operational and data warehousing using ERWin Data Modeler tools is a plus.
- Experience in analyzing and building reports / dashboards using BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Web Focus and MicroStrategy is advantageous
- Able to multi-task under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with multiple teams and users for more than one project, at the same time.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with others effectively and efficiently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory.

Required Skills
- Technical experience in information architecture, data architecture, data modeling, data governance, ETL design, data quality and BI-analytics.
- Strong working experience with SQL and other databases (i.e., DB2 and Oracle)
- Strong working experience with BI Development with Tableau and other BI tools
- Strong working experience with ETL development
- Strong communication skills and able to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and efficiently collaborate with others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
- Ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project.
- Ability to negotiate and compromise to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area.

Education & Experience
- Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience in a training-related field or Bachelor’s degree and 7-12 years of experience in a training-related field

Covid Guidance
