Currently, we have an opportunity for a CAD Drafter for Distribution Design for electric utility design in our Framingham, MA office.

The position presents the possibility of remote work or a hybrid schedule. This position will be working with our growing Power Distribution Engineering team.  This role may require leading other distribution designers, oversight and QAQC of both simple and complex engineering projects, working directly with clients, and ensuring the Leidos reputation of high quality is maintained.

CAD Drafter Qualifications:

  • HS diploma and/or drafting certificate with 1+ years relevant experience drafting and detailing with AutoCAD 3D and MicroStation V7/V8/V8i. Coursework experience applies.
  • Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing design engineering
  • Execution of distribution projects from kickoff through design approved
  • Knowledge of plan and profile drawings

CAD Drafter Nice to haves:

  • Experience with the NESC and/or CA GO95
  • QAQC expertise
  • Customer interaction
  • Process documentation
  • Experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC
  • Experience with design tools such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, Spida-Calc
  • Experience with Joint Use and Colocation projects 
  • Experience with rear to front lot conversion projects
