Project Supervisor- Department of Justice

Leidos is looking for a Project Supervisor to support our efforts at the Electronic Processing Center of the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice at 450 5th Street NW, Washington DC.   This position entails doing the work of a Data Specialist II and serving in a supervisory role for our Leidos team.  The period of performance is through March 31, 2023 with annual renewals anticipated thereafter.

Primary Responsibilities of the Project Supervisor:

  • Serve as a senior member for a team of Data Specialist IIs, Data Specialist Is and Document Management Analyst Is – a team of 8 employees, serve in the function of a Data Specialist II (processing and loading data) and also provides the leadership for the team performing administrative tasks accordingly.

  • Use advanced knowledge of eDiscovery processes, industry best practices, and data intake, processing and loading technologies, to provide exceptional service to customer clients and case teams.

  • Works under the direction of the Project Manager and assists in the management of the staffing and tasks handled by the EPC.

  • Is responsible for working closely with ATR Case Managers on task requirements.

  • Serves as the technical lead for electronic files processing, including managing the development of specialized scripts and documentation of processing procedures.

  • Has the flexibility to juggle task loads, which often requires supervising/working on multiple matters simultaneously.

  • Edits and prepares large load files for updating to Relativity.

  • Prepares outgoing discovery production deliverables per ATR Case Manager requests.

  • Assists with the hiring and training of new EPC-specific contract staff.

  • Participates in case specific status calls.

  • Troubleshoots loading and software utility issues as required.

  • Logs, tracks, and assigns tasks received in ATR’s Case Media and Tracking System database (CMTS).

  • Performs quality control checks on the data loaded by new and junior EFS staff.

  • Is highly knowledgeable and experienced in working with litigation software, including LAW and Relativity.

  • Is very familiar with Relativity database structure, Relativity loading protocols and procedures, exporting functions, and database maintenance.

  • Is very experienced in working with LAW and Pre-Discovery, including electronic document processing from ingestion of native files through the exporting of load files.

  • Possesses strong skills for assessing data productions from parties to determine if compliance with ATR production specifications has been met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of progressively more responsible experience on major litigation support projects, including at least one year of supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate numerous complex and time-critical litigation support activities simultaneously, including technical/data processing support and eDiscovery activities.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of litigation support; excellent writing skills; and excellent oral communication skills. 

  • Must be able to anticipate litigation support needs and develop and execute detailed plans for addressing needs. 

  • Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, and internet and server-based databases and other applications, such as Oracle, Relativity or other document review platforms. 

  • Familiarity with eDiscovery tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources required. 

  • Should be an expert user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems. 

  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources required.

  • Undergraduate degree required. 

  • Technical certification, or other pertinent graduate degree preferred. 

  • Substantial significant experience may in some cases be substituted for degree requirement.

  • Must be able to recognize various electronic file types (e.g., Word, PDF, ZIP).

  • Must have some familiarity with MS Office desktop applications such as Word and Outlook.

  • Experience in multi-tasking is required.

  • Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow. 

  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity or other document processing platform.

  •  Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued. 

  • At least two years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a federal government background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with virus scanning electronic files is helpful.
