Job Description:
Responsible for search and qualification new suppliers in line with quality expectations and budgetary requirements of the General Automation BU. Additionally, management initial orders with new suppliers and handover to purchasing team.
To investigate and propose new make/buy opportunities, including creation detailed and compelling business case. Delivery of route-to-market and supplier strategies, to enhance profitability, supply chain reliability and performance. Support to project teams, engaging with current and new suppliers and ensuring the procurement of high risk/value components.
SMART GOALS & OBJECTIVES:
Develop and implement regional supplier strategy for mechanical sub- and final assemblies, delivering preferred suppliers list, risk & opportunities associated with suppliers and risk mitigation actions
Create and manage database of sub-contractors to be used in worldwide mechanical and electrical projects, including labour rates comparison with respective country average rate
Research and introduce suppliers with new technologies and processes, adding value to the GA Business Unit Supply Chain
Develop supplier performance review process, including audit and qualification process
Propose and execute cost saving projects
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Technical
Search, introduction and qualification new suppliers
Create supplier introduction process, including proposal supplier audit process
Supplier risk analysis and mitigation actions
Define commodity categories required by BU
Manage orders for company’s strategic projects
From project start until handover to purchasing team
Time Management
Support to project teams in line with project requirements as defined by scope and requested by the Project Manager
Ensure all issues are satisfactorily closed out in a timely manner
Communication
Effectively communicate with project teams and other Supply Chain team members
Report supplier risks and opportunities to purchasing and project teams
Interface between company and new suppliers
Facilitate and lead manage strategic communication with suppliers
Team Working
Conduct regular specification reviews with project/engineering teams and suppliers to each project and monitor defined objectives
Cross Functional Working
Continually build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful completion of projects
Work with other team members to promote a positive & professional approach and drive best practice
Health & Safety
Always follow and promote Group and Company policies and procedures
Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE properly used

Experience
Proven experience of procurement and strategic sourcing, in a similar working environment
Experience with the project procurement for industrial automation, especially projects related to automotive sector
Previous experience and basic technical knowledge in all or some of the following areas:
Automation
Automotive manufacturing
Mechanical/material handling
Conveyor systems
Pneumatics
Hydraulics
Robotics
Control systems
Electrical power systems
Qualifications
CIPS qualification
MCIPS qualification
Pay Range:
