We have a dynamic job opportunity for a Linux Applications Administrator to work at our customer site at the National Maritime Intelligence Center, Suitland, MD. In this role you will work independently to achieve critical mission objectives necessary to continue smooth operations for Hopper, and other internal and external agencies. Routinely, you will collaborate with different internal and external customers and other experts to develop technical solutions to problems that are complex and not always immediately identifiable in order to timely meet mission objectives.

NOTE: Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, to be considered

THE MISSION
The HOPPER mission is to provide information technology services to fully enable ONI and the Navy to meet mission requirements.  The ISC Operations (ISC-O) Department is an integrated workforce of civilians, active duty and Reserve Naval professionals who support combat operations and provide vital information for planning America’s defense against maritime threats at home and around the world.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
-Maintain daily operation and problem resolution of system applications to provide optimum performance and application availability
-Develop, recommend, document, implement and maintain system application management policies, procedures and standards 
-Develop, maintain and document application baseline installation and configuration procedures
-Utilize custom scripting and in house software applications to proactively monitor systems and provide alerts
-Create, document and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain and patch   the application environments and all software supporting the application
-Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring
-Troubleshoot application connectivity and back up issues
-Secure, maintain and document all application and their environments
-Monitor all applications for unauthorized intrusion, unauthorized file/data access and other security incidents
-Coordinate the installation, modification and implementation of all server/system software and related software tools
-Develop and maintain configuration management documentation on application

WHAT SETS YOU APART (minimum job qualifications)
•Requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
•Minimum of 5 years experience in IS with specific focus on application administration
•Experience with RedHat (RHEL)
•Minimum of 3 years experience installing, maintaining and administration of Oracle's WebLogic Application Server
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience with application administration and maintenance in a Linux/UNIX (Solaris 10+) environment including shell script development and debugging
•Well versed with AWS to manage applications in a Cloud environment
•Working knowledge on JBOSS AS and Java, and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)
•Expert working knowledge of network technologies and protocols
•Knowledge with the installation and configuration of JAVA

•Knowledge of installing/administration of Oracle's WebLogic application server in a multi-domain environment
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Experience with cloud infrastructure and tools (AWS, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)

Certification Requirements
• Security+ certification
• AWS Sys Ops Admin certification or Cloud Practitioner certification 

Security Clearance Requirement
•An active DoD Top Secret/SCI

Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, market data, and possibly contractual requirements

Pay Range:

Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
