The Defense Health Operation of Leidos is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer with a signal processing focus to support the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT. NSMRL conducts research and investigates the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings.
The ideal candidate shall:
Perform signal processing of collected data to summarize experimental results.
Perform statistical modelling.
Assist with collection of underwater acoustic data.
Maintain laboratory notebooks and research documentation.
Draft sections of technical reports, posters, and presentations.
Interact with outside customers and researchers; brief technically detailed project results to sponsors.
Analyze human subject research data.
Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain experimental hardware.
Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation. The normal work week is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630.
Some offsite travel (~10%) may be required for data collection efforts, presentations, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
Coursework in signal processing, probability and statistics, and basic circuits.
Proficiency in MATLAB software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.
Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interact and effectively communicate both written and orally with a wide variety of people.
Experience in a research setting.
Technical writing experience.
Coursework related to acoustics, anatomy and physiology, thermodynamics, and mechanics are not required but would be a benefit to the position.

Pay Range:Pay Range $50,700.00 - $78,000.00 - $105,300.00
