The Leidos Intelligence Division is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer with a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance to support a highly visible fast paced prime contract in the Fort Meade, MD area. Our Prototype Development Support program is looking for candidates with a strong mission focus to do new development and rapid prototyping. Someone who can figure out smarter, better ways to discover new targets or support mission analysis. The Prototype Development Support (PDSII) program is a TTO-based, LOE program in support of our customer’s Operations organization. Through new development and rapid prototyping, PDSII looks to help its customer find new and better data sources and tradecraft to answer new and existing intelligence questions to accomplish its mission. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: A candidate with an analyst mindset who develops capabilities designed to help solve common problems arising from various analyst offices is needed. The primary focus will be on prototype development to extend enterprise services, support analytics, enhance machine learning, and develop commercial cloud solutions. The Software Data Engineering team also supports the integration and evaluation of open source, emerging technologies, and new COTS applications. The individual may work directly with customers, developers or data scientists to gather requirements and feedback.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: The candidate must have:
- At least 16 years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers.
- At least 5 years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline may be substituted for 4 years of general experience. A master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of general experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong development experience in a variety of languages (ex., java, python)
- Experience integrating with customer's cloud-based data systems.
- Experience installing, configuring, developing and integrating prototype applications for technical evaluation
- Modeling experience
- Machine Learning experience
- Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes
- Dev experience on Linux platforms
- Analytics development experience
- Virtual Machine (VM) experience
- Must be able to work independently (learner, thinker, do'er)
- Must be able to demo work products clearly to customer and other team members
- Able to demo and present during open houses and other customer events as needed
- Must be able to interact and work effectively with customer and other team members
- Proven development experience with strong aptitude and ability in learning new technologies
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Docker Containers, Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm charts
- Jupyter Notebook experience
- Machine learning experience
- Apache Spark experience
- Splunk experience
