Job Description:

The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos’s Intelligence Group currently has an opening for a Technical Writer (TW) to work in Kearneysville, West Virginia. The TW will join our growing USCG IMS PMO team. The TW position will support the complex IT modernization and consolidation program under the USCG Tech Revolution initiatives that includes a consolidation of 11 existing contracts.  This position will work closely with key customers, project managers, project leads, and technical SMEs to identify documentation needed for projects. Limited potential for travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations for short durations in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) United States Coast Guard’s Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) – Alexandria, VA command cadre.
 

Basic Qualifications

  • Have already been vetted by a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Develop documentation (SOPs, TTPs, etc.) per established templates and process
  • Lead peer reviews of documentation as required
  • Edit existing documentation as needed
  • Maintain and manage the Document Management (DM) tool – manage document numbers, grant/revoke permissions, troubleshoot issues, etc
  • Describe complex and technical topics in a clear, concise, and accurately manner to facilitate repeatable processes
  • Maintain SharePoint CDRL Repositor
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent written communication and grammatical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Experience working directly with engineers and other technical SMEs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and coordinate deadlines
  • DoD 8570 Certifications IAM Level I: one or more of CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, or HCISPP. This certification requirement may also be satisfied by any of the IAM Level II certifications, including CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), or CCISO. This certification requirement may also be satisfied by any of the IAM Level III certifications, including GSLC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a current DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Prior DoD experience and familiarity with Network Operations support environments
