The AIML Accelerator leads AI/ML strategy and execution across Leidos by designing and building solutions for captures and programs, creating technical discriminators, delivering AIML resources for the Enterprise while leading partnerships with commercial and academic providers of baseline and emerging technologies, and serving as thought leaders in AI and ML across the Enterprise. The AIML Accelerator Project Manager (PM) plans and directs all operational, financial, and administrative activities, enabling the VP / AIML Accelerator Lead to focus on larger strategic organizational initiatives. The PM also organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information and makes recommendations and facilitates efficient decision making. To be successful in this role, you will be well connected with the AIML Accelerator team and others across the organization to both drive and influence outcomes. You have a good understanding of Accelerator discriminators and AIML market to partner with the VP / AIML Accelerator Lead in improving those discriminating capabilities and represent the Accelerator internally and externally. Developing / having cross-functional networks fosters long-term partnerships, allows for rapid assessment and resolution of issues and barriers, and helps the team build trust within the enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities
• Creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success
• Designing, negotiating, planning, managing, tracking, and leading execution of a complex financial structure that includes 10+ sources of funding from multiple organizations and including dynamic constraints to support the work of 50+ researchers, scientists, and engineers.
• Coordinating internal and external communications (Prism, Confluence, Technical Exchanges, Technical Summits, etc.) including major Enterprise events such as our annual AI Palooza and our AIML Competitions.
• Establishing, prioritizing, tracking, and facilitate closure of a broad range of items at various levels of both urgency and importance across all Accelerator activities.
• Serving as program manager for individual high priority projects, including IRAD and internal development efforts.
• Assuming day-to-day responsibility for projects and tasks
• Providing strategic advice and counsel to the VP / AIML Accelerator Lead
• Coordinating team activities, including meeting and collaboration conception, preparation and execution
• Strategically leading high-profile projects
• Directly manage one Project Manager direct report
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ with master’s degree (or additional 4 years’ of experience in lieu of degree)
• 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in the technical space
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
• Able to work collaboratively across the corporation
• 2+ years financial planning / management experience
• Experience managing one or more direct report
• Excellent writing and presentation development skills
• Experience / awareness with AIML concepts and technology
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Significant experience in relationship management
• Ability to listen to, understand, prioritize and address mission needs
• Understanding of the Leidos organization, mission, and values
Preferred Qualifications
• AI/ML or data science experience or training
• Experience with JIRA / Confluence, and modern Agile and SecDevOps practices
• Experience with Leidos Capabilities, including our approach to building Trusted AI
• Secret / TS SCI Clearance
• PMP Certification
• Experience with bid and proposal activities, such as working on a capture / proposal
• Marketing experience
• Knowledge Management expertise
• Familiarity with IRAD process
