Leidos has a current job opening for Software Test Engineer in Sierra Vista, AZ supporting the Biometrics Automated Toolset – Army (BAT-A) Sustainment contract. This contract provides operations, maintenance, software engineering services and hardware procurement services, and associated support for all devices associated with the BAT-A system. These services shall focus on supporting the Warfighter needs by sustaining adequate support functions. The Biometrics Automated Toolset – Army (BAT-A) is an established Identity Management and Collection solution that has led the effort to identify foes in the War on Terror. Leidos assists in this worldwide effort by aiding the US Military in the utilization of biometrics to positively identify individuals in a shifting world of identities.
This position will support the BAT-A Software Engineering Environment from Sierra Vista, AZ to inspect, test, and evaluate the precision, accuracy, and reliability of BAT-A system and application software, BAT-A Hand Held (SEEK) software, and the BAT-A Web application.
Primary Responsibilities
Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental, unit, and integration test procedures for new and/or modified products or product components.
Perform system testing and validation of new software baselines, patches, and IAVA updates
Develop and update the Master Test Plans
Assist in testing and maintaining the BAT image for the SEEK, server, and laptop
Basic Qualifications
Must possess a minimum of a DoD Top Secret clearance
Previous experience testing Biometrics hardware devices and software
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or any other Scientific or Technical discipline is required from an accredited college and 5 years of prior relevant experience in software testing.
Ability to perform verification and validation of software baselines
Ability to write test plans, procedures, and software testing reports
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of US Military Biometrics, ISR, and SIGINT Systems
Excellent team building and personnel motivational skills.
Prior US Military/Government experience.
Knowledge of and Experience with software languages, to include: Visual Basic 6.0, COM, COM+, C/C++, C#, .NET, and XML
Knowledge of and Experience with MS Windows 7/10, MS SQL Server 2008/2012 R2, MS .NET Framework 4, MS Visual Studio, IBM Rational System Architect, and VMware
