The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to work in Pueblo, CO and the Pueblo Agent Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) located on the Pueblo Army Depot. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and expertise to support the United States Chemical Weapons destruction program.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; performing document reviews, technical research, equipment walk downs, and providing technical input associated with the Systems Contractor activities.
Perform project related engineering activities such as provide technical input to the PCAPP FO regarding systemization efforts, startup, operations and closure. Technical input shall include, but no limited to, operational performance, quality assurance, management controls, and emergency response readiness.
This position may be required to perform duties as a shift representative. As a shift representative, provide technical input regarding plant operations including, but not limited to, the following areas: munition processing operations, maintenance activities, toxic entries, surety, security, emergency response, ammunition surveillance, quality assurance, and environmental compliance.
As a shift representative, the candidate may be required to work a 12 hour rotating shift.
Basic Qualifications
The candidate shall have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
Requires a minimum of 6 years’ experience pertaining to systemization and operations of a chemical demilitarization facility, or similar industrial plant, may be presented in lieu of an engineering degree.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform engineering calculations and analyze engineering data related to process controls and operations.
Must be able to wear an M40 respirator.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACi Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in plant shift operations, industrial Conduct of Operations and Government oversight.
Must be able to work in a team-based environment.
Must have the ability and desire to initiate and execute new projects.
Effective communications skills using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel is desirable.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00Covid Guidance
