Job Description:
Leidos is looking for an individual with the experience necessary to manage the team responsible for the evaluation, test, integration, delivery, operation, and maintenance of security systems used at US ports of entry and U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints. Systems include License Plate Readers, electronic Document Readers, Biometric capture devices, X-Ray, radiation detection scanners.
Individual will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of two test facilities -- one indoor facility located in Sterling, VA and an outdoor facility located in Stafford, VA-- used to support the test and evaluation of deployed systems.
Applicants must be innovative and self-motivated to research new technologies in find innovation solutions that address customer mission needs and solve unanticipated problems and have good leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
•Support the test and integration of security equipment deployed to secure the US borders
•Recruit and retain staff with the hardware skills needed to support the engineering, operation, and maintenance of border security systems
•Be a servant-leader to resolve issues and remove project obstacles
•Maintain the equipment/hardware baselines and configurations deployed to US ports of entry
•Conduct trade studies necessary to evaluate new technologies/system solutions against evolving customer mission requirements
•Assist with the resolution of equipment failures/performance issues and conduct root cause analysis of major failures.
•Assist in the procurement of equipment i.e., define Bill of Materials, for required port/border deployments.
•Assist the Operations Manager with specification of equipment/consumable quantities (including spares) necessary to adequately maintain and achieve SLA targets.
•Support equipment lifecycle RAM analysis necessary to system/equipment maintenance plans
•Ensure timely submission of hardware change requests and their review, and approval through established engineering/change control boards
•Delivery of required System Engineering Lifecyle Documentation & Designs
•Support SELC preliminary and critical design reviews
•Delivery of hardware test and acceptance plans
•Hardware Configuration Management Plan
•Management of hardware related risks and their mitigations
•Comply with established security processes and implement necessary security controls in order to maintain authorization to operate security equipment.
Lap Ops Responsibilities:
•Implement necessary controls necessary to secure the test facilities in accordance with the program’s Security Plan
•Process/track equipment into and out of the test facilities
•Oversee the maintenance of the test lane facilities and the configuration of labs, test benches, and mock-ups to support testing and acceptance of border security equipment/systems.
Experience with the integration, test, and deployment of following technologies is desirable:
•Commercially available License Plate Readers
•Electronic Document/RFID readers
•High resolution security cameras
•X-Ray Scanners
•Radiation Detection Devices
Education/Experience: Candidate must have a Bachelors degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience OR a Masters degree and 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00Covid Guidance
