About Leidos Europe

Leidos Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos Inc. We are proud to have been awarded The Logistics, Commodities & Supplies Transformation (LCST) Contract from the Ministry of Defence. This is a challenging, IT driven program which has revolutionized the military supply chain within the UK and is driving cost savings to the customer which are predicted to reach multiple hundreds of millions of pounds by the time the contract completes.

About The Role

Exciting opportunity with a major Logistics Programme. Looking for an EDW Lead to manage the development and support of ETL/Data warehousing within a complex programme environment. This role holder will be responsible for managing the development and support of data and analytics solutions in a project-based environment to support the growing need for controlled, accurate and timely data to support decision-making and business insight across a major government partnership initiative. Role is based in Bristol but is flexible so would also suit other locations

Candidates must already be SC cleared or be willing to undergo SC Clearance

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver enterprise data and analytics solution through effective development ETL/Data warehousing and BI solutions across the software development life cycle

  • Support production information services and integrations in a secure, regulated environment

  • Drive forward developments and taking responsibility for tracking, work stream status updates, dependency management between work strands, stakeholder  and escalation management and status reporting into project management

  • Effectively manage a distributed development team

  • Support the evolution of the EDW from an on-premise to a cloud AWS platform

  • Enhance processes and documentation for development life cycle through production support. Maintain appropriate controls to ensure adherence to the development life cycle and standards.

Skills/Experience

  • Experience in managing IT data deliveries through the Software Development Life Cycle in both agile and waterfall delivery models

  • Line management experience and ability to provide strong pastoral support focused on personal wellbeing

  • A proactive attitude that can support multiple workstreams in parallel with agility, innovation and focus on quality and cost

  • Strong data analysis and design with experience in the ETL and BI tools.

  • Traditional RDMS and BI experience essential with cloud technologies, especially AWS desirable

  • Strong customer consultancy and presentation skills: able to document and present information clearly to a range of audiences

  • Experience of Jira, IBM Information Server, DataStage, Oracle, Cognos, Cloud Pak for Data all desirable but not essential

  • Logistics experience desirable but not essential

  • Security clearance will be required
