We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer/Designer to support a program in Vienna, VA. This position will work onsite supporting our Veterans Affairs contract DHMSM, a program providing modernization of Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for the Department of Defense. The Leidos Partnership for Defense Health (LPDH) is seeking candidates for the engineering team to support several positions responsible for defining, implementing, deployment and sustainment of new capabilities for the MHS GENESIS DoD EHR system. As a Sr. Systems Engineer/Designer for this program, you will be responsible for the following:
Work with Team Lead to provide functional architecture guidance across the engineering lifecycle (analyze, design, build, test, deploy, support)
Participate in the introduction of new capabilities and the enhancement or troubleshooting of existing capabilities
Be able to understand/learn new technologies when encountered
Assist in the development of detailed designs, executive briefings, data flow diagrams, and everything in between.
Meld commercial products with custom developed solutions to meet functional requirements while working within the constraints of the client’s IT and cyber infrastructure
Work independently within a matrixed organization
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
BS Degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
US Citizen with ability to obtain ADP2/IT2 Public Trust. Federal Government requirement.
Understanding of FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) interoperability standards. Preferred 1-2 years’ experience on both
Prior hands-on experience in design/build/test/ops of healthcare system interfaces
Ensuring small project compliance with corporate/program technical guidelines
Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
Demonstrating leadership skills and possessing a track record across various life-cycle phases (cross-functional experience highly desirable)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels
Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment
Requirement interpretation and decomposition
Software development methodologies, including testing

Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00Covid Guidance
