Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking a motivated and talented Senior Image Reconstruction Scientist to join our multidisciplinary, highly energized and expert engineering team. This position will be working as part of our image reconstruction team, contributing with both guidance and hands-on contributions to advanced image reconstruction and threat detection algorithms for the development of x-ray computed tomography (CT) and millimeter wave based threat detection security scanners. The Senior Image Reconstruction Scientist will be responsible for the development of image acquisition and reconstruction algorithms in support of new product development and existing product enhancement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time algorithms for x-ray computed tomography, millimeter wave, & microwave imaging systems for the purposes of threat detection
- Actively engage in the research and development of novel image acquisition and reconstruction code development
- Develop, optimize, & enhance the code that drives image formation across several imaging modalities and product lines
- Analyze data, make recommendations, write technical reports, whitepapers, and support the IP filing process
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Expert in signal processing, image formation, and inverse problem techniques
- Expertise implementing algorithms using a scientific toolkit e.g. MATLAB
- Intermediate knowledge of object oriented programming in C++ or Python
- Strong math, analytical and communication skills
- Must have positive, team focused attitude and approach to work tasks
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. We are unable to sponsor visas for this position and require applicants to be either a US citizen or a permanent resident (Green Card holder)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing imaging algorithms for medical and/or security imaging devices
- Familiarity with filtered backprojection & iterative reconstruction techniques for tomographic systems
- Experience in parallelizing and optimizing forward or backward projectors
- Familiarity with GPU programming & multithreading
- Familiarity with AI/ML toolkits & techniques

Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00#Remote
