We are in search of a WebSphere/Liberty Administrator who has experience in WebSphere/Liberty administration activities on z/OS and Linux to join our team based in supporting the contracts at the Social Security Administration.
The candidate will be collocated with the SSA government employees and subcontractors at a government facility in Baltimore, Maryland. This position may require occasional off hours support during operating system/software upgrades and patches.

Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively communicate orally and in writing with customers, team members, management, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Experience learning new technology, software in a self-directed fashion for example; reading the vendor / technical documentation and on-line training course.
- Experience authoring and revising technical documentation keep it up to date and relevant.
- Experience as a WebSphere/Liberty administrator on z/OS and Linux.
- Experience independently Planning, Installing, Configuring, Upgrading and Troubleshooting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Linux-Based web-systems at scale.
- Experience working with performance and log monitoring software to apply performance improvements as needed. Preferred monitoring tools: Splunk, Introscope and Dynatrace.
Note: Candidate is required to learn and stay up-to-date with a working knowledge to regarding administration and use of any assigned product(s).

The candidate will be collocated with the SSA government employees and subcontractors at a government facility in Baltimore, Maryland. This position may require occasional off hours support during operating system/software upgrades and patches.
Candidate is responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of WebSphere/Liberty on z/OS and Linux, including associated hardware. Candidate will recommend a plan and approach for applying upgrades and configuration settings to optimize efficiencies, including performance. Candidate will recommend best practices to identify and apply system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space. Implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
Candidate will communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members. Candidate may communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.).
Candidate works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.

- Provide advice and support to development resources.
- Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
- Support the standing standards, policies and procedures of the customer team.
- Provide mentorship to group members and will be expected to help develop and support junior level staff.
- Provide after hours on-call support that will be required to apply changes during non-peak hours.
- Accept other duties as directed by management.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of related IT experience
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
