Job Description:
Leidos is hiring a Database Specialist to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. An active Secret is required with the ability to get TS/SCI; all work is onsite.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized database.
Projects long range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
Includes database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection
Perform remedial actions as necessary to ensure database remain online and available to applications and user.
Works with application owners/developers to ensure database meets their requirements for performance and availability,
Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front end /backend programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript).
Performs database programming and supports systems design.
Maintaining information assurance (IA) security documentation and artifacts for SQL databases.
Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Five (5) years of experience providing O&M support to MS SQL Server
DoD active Secret clearance.
Three (3) years of experience of database query languages such as SQL, SQLite, T-SQL
At least three (3) years hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems.
Familiarity with DISA STIGs (database and instance), which are updated quarterly if changes to the STIGs apply.
Familiarity with technical controls in the Risk Management Framework, as they apply to SQL databases.
Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.
Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
Active IAT Level II certification
Active Computing Environment Certification: MS SQL Server 2016 and up
Preferred Qualifications:
Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
