Job Description:
The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Aviation Quality Control Manager to work at the Manassas Regional Airport, located in Manassas, VA.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of a Part 145 Avionics shop including but not limited to installations, upgrades, cable fabrication, and component bench repair and line service.
Manage avionics installation, bench and line employees.
Design, draw and integrate avionics and electrical systems, perform installation of avionics, navigation, and electrical and special mission equipment per engineering drawings while following wiring standards.
Perform and also instruct basic soldering, harness fabrication and installation including wire stripping and crimping, fault isolation and repair of avionics system failures.
Design, installation and integration of avionics systems, special mission and other electrical equipment, fabricate wiring harnesses.
Oversee and coordinate avionics installation and integration as well as bench and line service work.
Ensure all work is performed per the required drawing and documentation IAW FAA and Leidos policy, procedure, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
BS and four (4) years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be used in lieu of degree.
Current FCC License
Five (5) years installation and troubleshooting experience
Platform oriented avionics training
Vocational development or on-the-job training of electronic and avionics theory and troubleshooting on aviation systems.
Ability to design and integrate avionics systems and electrical systems and develop schematics.
Ability to read and use schematics and drawings.
Experience in General Aviation, King Air, Challenger and Global and other turbo prop and corporate jets as well as Garmin, Rockwell Collins, Honeywell and others is preferred.
Must be able to attend and pass a Conus Replacement Course (CRC) training.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to:
Crawl in and out of tight spaces
Comfortably work in confined areas in a kneeling or crouched position
Lift, balance and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work in enclosed hangars as well as exterior in year round weather conditions
Work off site as required
