Job Summary:

This project provides the full range of systems design, analysis, integration, verification, and validation activities in support of the Navy’s Key Management project portfolio. The selected candidate will provide instructional design and eLearning development expertise, as well as highly skilled technical writing capability in the following areas: technical software design description (SDD), software user manual (SUM) development, technical explainer video development, and online and face-to-face courseware development.

The position responsibilities include:

Apply sound instructional design principles and a user centric approach to the design and development of all deliverables Lead the continued development of the SUM and the SDD Develop screen recorded explainer videos using established templates and approach Continue to develop and update existing eLearning modules using Storyline 360, including practices and demos, test question maintenance, publishing to Review 360 and for LMS adherence Prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines Apply agile methodology approach to all design, development, and testing efforts Develop new eLearning courses, as needed Assist in the development of onboarding artifacts, as needed

Required Qualifications:

Position requires US citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance. BA in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred 5+ years Instructional Design experience

  • Experienced, accomplished, and intuitive application of instructional design skills
  • Adhere to sound instructional design principles and theories (ADDIE, PADDIE+M, and so on)
  • Follow the analysis approach of answering why we are developing this product, (and why now?) – always find out what problem we are trying to solve
  • Must be able to write from a user centric position and know your audience
  • Work with subject matter experts to write clear and simple content for technical subject matter
  • Expertise in writing measurable learning objects
  • Expertise in designing courses that follow a process flow directly related to user tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences

Excellent technical writing skills 5+ years of experience using MS Office to write technical documentation, specifically software user manuals and software design manuals

  • Direct knowledge of managing large Word documents
  • Design and manage documents using styles
  • Create and update figure and table captions
  • Manage cross references
  • Insert and manage screen shots and other images

5+ years designing, recording, editing, and narrating technical explainer videos with TechSmith Camtasia

  • Develop screen recorded explainer videos using established templates and approach
  • Set highest quality screen resolution and recording settings
  • Storyboard and script videos for specific software capabilities
  • Solicit SME input and review for video design and content
  • Direct experience applying annotations, animations, behaviors, and visual effects
  • Direct experience writing and recording clear audio narration

5+ years direct experience designing and developing eLearning courses with Articulate Storyline 360

  • Highly experienced in Storyline 360
  • Direct experience recording and editing software simulations within Storyline 360
  • Effective use of master slides, themes, and layouts
  • Working effectively with buttons, states, and layers
  • Designing interactions such as click to learn, gaming and timing elements, reveals, and so on
  • Direct experience with quizzing development, quiz types, test banks, and options

Strong attention to detail User centric approach to writing and development Successful working relationships with technical subject matter experts Excellent project management and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:

Graphic design and development experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Experience on a government contracting program Articulate Rise experience Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
