Job Description:

Leidos Defense Enterprise and Cyber Solutions (E&CS) is seeking a Chief Architect (CA) to join our Defense Enclave Services team, to lead the technical team for an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. The DES CA is designated key personnel for leading engineering activities and frequent collaboration with the DISA leadership in the Washington Metro Area. The CA will transform and establish enterprise-scale services for Network, End User Services, Cybersecurity, and Operations and Sustainment services.  A key element will be consolidation and migration of common IT services of 22 Defense Agencies into a single enterprise provider. This challenging large-scale opportunity will support greater than 300,000 end users located throughout the world, across 1000+ locations ranging in size from campuses to single buildings. This position is located at Ft. Meade, MD at DISA Headquarters with potential travel to various 4th Estate locations throughout the U.S.  Up to 50% (on average) of telecommuting is planned.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful technical startup and transition of the program, including establishing the Chief Architect engineering team.

  • Works closely with the Leidos DES Program Manager and PMO to provide services and projects that adhere to quality, schedule and budget.

  • Works closely with the Leidos E&CS operational unit providing status and obtaining reach-back support from related programs throughout Leidos to deliver successful program execution.

  • Works closely with the 4ENO Program Office and other customer leadership at the most senior levels regarding IT strategy, contractual requirements and service delivery.

  • Serves as the technical lead on large, complex project, driving the introduction and execution of these projects into the environment.

  • Affects Service Delivery by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that lead to successful DES execution and continuous improvement.

  • Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that affect multiple aspects of the project/program. Problems range from high impact operational events to tactical corrections.

  • Mentors and coaches other technical staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters degree with 15-20 years of experience in a related field.

  • 20+ years technology engineering experience

  • 5+ years as a Chief Solutions Architect or Chief Engineer for IT Enterprises with experience chairing or participating in governance boards

  • DoD8570.01-M baseline certification or ability to obtain rapidly

  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis

  • Experience managing a team of technical professionals

  • Experience producing trades studies, business cases for government projects and experience estimating project work to include dev, test, operations and sustainment.

  • Experience with standard system engineering lifecycle concepts, architectural frameworks, project engineering and the necessary artifacts to produce working solutions.

  • Experience with all aspects of ITIL or DESMF

  • Experienced presenting complicated concepts, course of action and proposals to Government/Customer and Leidos/Internal leadership

  • Architectural experience with Enterprise IT technologies to include End User Compute, Wide Area Network (WAN)/Local Area Network (LAN)/Campus Area Network (CAN), Compute & Storage (On Premise and CSP), Enterprise IT Management tools, Cyber Security.

  • A Secret level security clearance is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications for Enterprise IT Technologies

  • Experience establishing and controlling the Enterprise technical baseline

  • Experience consolidating diverse IT operations and developing standardized services such as would occur during a corporate merger

  • Experience incorporating advanced IT operations or technical functionality such as Zero Trust capabilities, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, Continuous Monitoring, and artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • Experience supporting DISA and understanding of the DISA mission with the ability to become a trusted DISA partner if not one already.

  • Knowledge of U.S. Federal acquisition processes and competitive capture environments


Pay Range:

Pay Range $139,750.00 - $215,000.00 - $290,250.00
