Leidos is hiring a Network Management Administrator. All work will be performed onsite at the National Maritime Intelligence Center in Suitland, MD.
The purpose of this effort is to provide dedicated network management system (NMS) administration support for the JWICS network supporting the Hopper Information Services Center (HISC), the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), and worldwide Navy N2’s. this task also includes managing and monitoring the Hopper’s NMS of choice, SOLARWINDS. The contractor will be responsible for account creation and management on the local NMS only along with reviewing system logs and customizing reports based on government requirements. The contractor will only be required to provide technical assistance on an ‘as needed’ basis for remote NMS instantiation and will fine tune the existing NMS toolsets that will involve configuring objects that equate to managed “nodes or hosts”.
The Network Operations Division (ISC-N31) is responsible for providing network administration and engineering related support for elements within the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) and locations around the world. This ranges from providing simple patching actions between network components to configuring hardware and security solutions to performing network administration functions. The responsibilities of the technician(s) assigned to ISC-N31 are primarily at the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Layers one through four however knowledge of systems/applications working at the higher layers is imperative to the continued success of the ISC-N31 and its various supported customers.

Responsibilities Include:
Act as the Subject Matter expert and be responsible for recommending, developing and developing network solutions for the Hopper Information Services Center and also lead and provide Network Administration support for SOLARWINDS and ISE-TACACS+ devices and toolsets, including the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. These responsibilities include the engineering and management of network infrastructures, identifying and implementing best practices and recommending system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of network infrastructure and implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
Will work independently or with others to verify and ensure all network assets are being monitored (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, etc.) and are in compliance with the latest governance and best practices and ensure appropriate system logs are being captured and reviewed, objects are properly labeled, and key interfaces monitored.
Coordinate across IT domains and multiple teams (internal and external) and influence Hopper leadership regarding solution design, process and/or approaches to ensuring all Network systems are up-to-date, working efficiently and ensure all mission requirements are met.
Backup and Restoration: Ensure no undocumented potential or actual loss of data from Mission Systems thru combination of sound network system configurations and scheduled / confirmed backups of network systems, and configurations.
Schedule Maintenance Activities: Plan, schedule, and execute all maintenance activities that may disrupt use of mission critical network systems and devices.
Change Management: Develop and provide written recommendations to update network devices and applications prompted by events such as OS Updates, or other software updates.
Lifecycle Replacement of Hardware: Analyze systems, and provide recommendations and specifications for the replacement of all network hardware prior to its planned end of life date.
Perform gap analysis and develop plan to reduce gap of assets monitored.
Architect and develop technical implementation plan for use of PKE on the ISE-TACACS+ servers.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Active DoD TS/SCI
Security+ certification
BS and 12+ years of relevant experience OR a MS/MA with 10+ yrs of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
5+ years of experience with network management systems administration (e.g. Extahop, Solarwinds, EM7, HP Openview, etc).
Hands-on experience the use of CISCO ISE-TACACS+ and Solarwinds toolsets.
Proficient in configuring and fault isolation of CISCO devices using: SNMPv3, TCP/IP, Syslog, TACACS+, Netflow, and subnetting.
Proficient in writing technical and non-technical papers.
CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (90 day waiver to obtain after hire).
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP).
Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $156,000.00 - $210,600.00Covid Guidance
