Job Description:
The Maritime division has an opening for a Product Owner for our Agile software team. This team works on software for autonomous vessels, sensors, and other systems in the maritime environment. The candidate will be joining an existing product owner team, and will collaborate with them, other Agile team members, and management. They will share responsibility for building and maintaining a product backlog across several efforts from customer requirements.
Effective communication skills and the ability to break complex problems into pieces are the key to this position. A successful candidate will have demonstrated these skills through prior work in a software environment. They will need to build understanding of industry and program specific terms. Understanding of technical concepts and an ability to work with unfamiliar ideas important for this role. The Product Owner will have to take things that aren’t well defined, and work with the team to understand what is important.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Attending daily stand-up meetings, identifying and helping resolve issues
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders, including regular status meetings
- Working with systems engineers to elicit requirements and use them to construct a product backlog
- Working together to build technical solutions to complex problems, through collaboration with subject matter experts and other stakeholders
- Performing review of Agile team member outputs, including verifying testing and quality assurance
- Planning integration and test events
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience helping to lead an Agile process based on Scrum
- Experience tracking project backlogs or requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, both through formal presentations and informal discussions, with customers and management
- Ability to build and track to release plans, and to manage issues with them in execution.
- BS in a software related field and 4 – 8 years of prior Agile software development experience, or relevant Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile certifications, such as a PMI-Agile, or CSPO
- Work in a maritime or defense environment
- Familiarity with AI concepts
- Experience working with a team using DevSecOps and other modern software approaches
- Understanding of Microsoft Project and Atlassian JIRA

Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00Covid Guidance
