Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a System Administrator to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role requires an individual that is technical, customer oriented and familiar with enterprise server and desktop patch management. This individual should be detail oriented in order to capture Cyber Security and System Administrator inquiries appropriately. This role is responsible for interacting with customers to coordinate Patch Management responsibilities. Duties include examining complex problems preventing automated installation of patches/upgrades and suggesting/implementing appropriate corrective action across Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, MacOS, UNIX, and Linux operating systems (physical and virtual). This role analyzes recurring problems and initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence. Individuals in this role may be required to remotely log into the end users' endpoint (desktops and/or servers) in order to perform technical software configuration, rebooting, and other remedial actions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Experience with interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.
Support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Rapidly distinguish isolated user problems from enterprise-wide application/system problems.
Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.
Develop solutions to complex technical issues.
Provide follow-up vulnerability reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
Support 24/7/365 customers and missions by coordinating service interruptions.
Provide mentorship and supervision to junior team members.
Develop and update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with Scripting/Automation using PowerShell and shell script languages
Ability to use, troubleshoot, and fix existing PowerShell and shell scripts
Experience with Tier 2 system administration of workstations and servers
Experience troubleshooting Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Microsoft Endpoint Manager client errors for workstations and servers
Experience with interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems
Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment
Experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and identification of issue trends
Experience with server patch management methodologies
Experience mentoring junior personnel
Time management skills
Strong oral and written communications skills
Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results
Experience with IT Service Management systems such as Service Now
Required Certifications:
Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
Education:
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 2+ or fewer years. quivalency of Associate’s with 6 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 8 years of related experience can be used in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
TS/SCI with Poly is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.
Desired Certifications (not required):
OS Administration certification (Microsoft, Linux, UNIX, or MacOS)
ITIL Foundation
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00About Leidos
