Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, with FAA air traffic control background, who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration’s Advanced Technologies & Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) program, which is the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System and the pulse of the National Airspace System. ATOP is vital to the future of air navigation, providing the foundational platform required for FAA to enable NextGen solutions, via modernization programs such as System Wide Information Management, Data Communications, and Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast. ATOP will provide benefits for users and the flying public by increasing air traffic flow over the ocean.
Senior Systems Engineer responsibilities:
• Writing ATOP Functional Description Documents (FDNs) and developing requirements for the system.
• Assist software development and test personnel with an understanding of the new requirements.
• Will participate with team recreating site ATOP air traffic control issues and both identify and document where the problem could exist and working with SW and test team to ensure the issues are addressed.
Qualifications:
• Requires BS degree and 12+years of prior System Engineering experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior of Systems Engineering experience. Equivalent years of hands-on ATOP air traffic control experience can be substituted in lieu of education/degree.
• Demonstrated experience with similar programs that include development and sustainment, or agile development methodology (Scrum).
• S/W Language Experience –Desired: Java, Oracle, Linux (RHEL and/or CentOS); Desired: Apache Camel, JBoss, Tomcat, Spring, Puppet, Git, JMS, SOAP, REST
• Ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00#Remote
