Job Description:
The Space Systems team in the Leidos Innovation Center Applied Science Division is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support a variety of efforts. The intern will be involved in design and analysis of mechanical systems, production and special test equipment as well as conducting testing. Duties may include providing direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication and providing supporting documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
Support for detailed design and production documentation updates
Support for test procedure development
Support for optical alignment, assembly, integration, and test activities
Support of finite-element modeling applications
Basic Qualifications
Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Minimum of two years of college coursework completed before the start of the internship
Experience working with a technical team in Mechanical Engineering and assembly
U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with mechanical equipment including hands-on experience, Solidworks, Matlab, finite element analysis software, Microsoft Office, and a good work ethic.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $38,400.00 - $52,000.00 - $65,600.00Covid Guidance
