The Leidos Defense Group/Logistics and Mission Support Operation CTO organization is seeking a Simulation Solution Architect (SA) to assist with developing solutions and technical offerings primarily for our Force Protection Campaign. We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a background in developing and test to be a part of a team to guide the use of M&S for our customer base and solutions. Staff SAs support multiple portfolios within the LMSO Operation in this role, with emphasis in one area aligned to the SAs’ skills and career objectives. Staff SAs work under the direction of a Senior SA, offering the SAs mentorship and guidance as the SAs take on increasingly demanding solutioning efforts in terms of technical complexity, span across the Leidos enterprise, and potential revenue. The position works with other SAs in the Operation and Defense Group, the Office of Technology (OoT), and across Leidos to pursue, win, and support execution of programs. SAs will be included in the Corporate Solution Architect Program, furthering their technical leadership maturation and broadening their experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include engaging in customer shaping efforts, requirements gathering, and proposal support activities, leveraging understanding of industry trends and Leidos capabilities for product development and system integration within the Force Protection domain:
•The successful candidate will facilitate, advise, and train various LMSO business areas that use and derive benefit from OR analysis and M&S capability as the in-house SME.
•Technical solutioning and system trade studies
•Systems Engineering - Design and development, Test and Evaluation, and Verification, Validation, and Accreditation
•Digital Engineering and Model-Based System Engineering
•Operational effectiveness analysis at the engagement, mission, and campaign levels - and how this level of ORSA and M&S capability is built upon basic physics, systems, and sub-system M&S capability
•Analyze the design and development of systems and algorithms for the extraction of information from sensors.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with at least 8 years or Master of Science in STEM with at least 6 years of experience. More years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
•5 Years of experience in developing M&S in C/C++ or Java
•Experience in translating technical capability/technical discriminators into M&S requirements
•Experience architecting changes to existing M&S
•Experience developing and/or integrating models into M&S used by DoD to assess an emerging concept of operations or technology
•Ability to work with customers and Leidos teams to discern key customer requirements and "hot buttons", and translate how to best demonstrate the military utility and operational benefit of Leidos solutions
•Familiarity with ORSA concepts, analytic techniques, and methodologies such as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, mathematical optimization, simulation, stochastic-process models, decision analysis, and economic models
•Willingness to travel up to 25% depending on the home locations relative to those of teams and customers with whom the Staff SA will interact.
•Familiarity with the development of innovative solutions in support of major capture and proposal efforts
•Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a SECRET security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience working for or at one of the military analysis centers: N81; USAF Studies, Analysis and Assessments; Center for Army Analysis, etc. - and their standard and "trusted" models (e.g. AFSIM, STORM, COSMOS etc.)
•Experience federating simulations using HLA
•Experience developing Python scripts
•Experience in creation of white papers, proposals, and/or briefings demonstrating the thought leadership capabilities of the organization, as well as supporting various marketing and business development efforts through customer interaction
•Familiarity with secured data including multi-level classified data
•Active or previous TS/SCI security clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00#Remote
