The National Solutions Group at Leidos has an opening for a Mathematician to support a client’s requirements in a challenging and dynamic setting located in Aurora, CO. The successful candidate will be required to execute, refine, mathematical and data operations in a purpose-built enterprise environment. The candidate will be required to possess demonstrable technical skills and the ability to work constructively and collaboratively across multiple functional and technical areas to achieve a positive impact on explicitly stated and implicit program goals and business results.
Qualified applicants must be able to perform efficiently under dynamic conditions and skillfully navigate continually evolving priorities, facilitating reliable and consistent mission application mathematical and data processing in a complex environment. Applicants will exercise comprehensive technical knowledge in order to meet or exceed prescribed Performance Requirements Standards (PRS). Through the application of deep technical and critical thinking skills, expert knowledge, and highly innovative approaches to resolving complex problems. The ideal candidate will be integral to ensuring the uninterrupted performance and stability of mission processors and their associated mathematical and data support.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Focus on the development on the practical application of Statistics/Linear Algebra
- Work within the team to provide algorithm specification, design, and implementation for multi-mission operational image processing data system and mapping of imagery obtained during remote-sensing operations.
- Work as part of the team that is responsible for the advanced integration and automation of processes associated with the extraction of information from the sensor data, its compilation into 3D spatial databases, and subsequent exploration, management and archiving.
- Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
- Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- U.S. Citizen with willingness and ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- Requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in Physics and Astrophysics as it relates to orbital mechanics
- Experience with software development in particular
- Python
- R
- Java
- PHP
- Willingness to support automated testing using a proprietary tool
- Ability to handle multiple different technical objectives simultaneously and triage
- Familiarity with OPIR and Distributed Neural Networks / Convolutional Neural Networks
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in the office 3-4 days a week

Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00Covid Guidance
