Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer supporting Space-Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS), PSF/ECPR Program Office, Greeley Air National Guard, Colorado, and Buckley AFB. Conducted research and modernization activities for the SBIRS Survivable and Endurable elements’ phased array antennas, data processing subsystems, and UHF communications rack equipment. Depot level maintenance support to the 233rd Space Group, Greeley, CO. Updated Technical Orders (TO), composed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO). Responding to emergency issues at the 233rd Space Group. Providing on-site support and troubleshooting of Mobile Ground Terminals/Communication Vehicles. Performed mission vehicle capabilities requirements analyses to develop and prioritize sustainment activities. As a systems engineer, the candidate will support modernization efforts to include requirements analysis, product selection, functional analysis and decomposition. The candidate will also support validation and verification of product suitability and maintainability.
Primary Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for modification projects in the field of electrical, mechanical, or information technologies in support of the overall team goals. Within each task, they will review the performance and environmental requirements and recommend solutions to the lead engineer. Upon the engineering team’s approval, they will develop procurement and installation plans. Additional tasks include capturing the work in Space Force Technical Orders. The contract requires the SLMS team to provide emergency or urgent depot level support to return mission equipment to operations. This will require short-term deployment to Greeley Colorado or other deployed operating locations. The individual will identify the cause of the outage and repair the equipment if possible. If immediate repair is not possible, the candidate will support the team in developing a course of action to return the equipment to service and provide status until complete.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree plus a minimum of 2 years work experience.
Active DoD Secret level security clearance required to start.
Basic electrical and mechanical skills.
The ability to troubleshoot complex electrical equipment to include Radio Frequency and power generation.
The ability to capture installation, removal and maintenance procedures in the Space Force Technical Order system.
An understanding of the systems engineering process to move from requirements to hardware selection and integration.
The ability to update technical data packages to include red lining drawings, updating bills of materials and adapting commercial manuals for Space Force use.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with power production and HVAC.
Familiarity with satellite communications equipment.
Familiarity with network configuration, routers and IP configurations.
Ability to perform minor modifications using AutoCAD or similar software.
Ability to work in small teams to resolve technical issues.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
