To our valued Leidos candidates:

Coronavirus is on everyone's mind with the effects being felt around the world. The markets are volatile, and we're all concerned for the health and safety of our families, friends, and colleagues. Please know that we're taking all necessary measures to safeguard our employees, customers and the communities in which we live, including following all recommended best practices around social distancing.

With that in mind, in an abundance of caution, we are canceling all face to face career events, such as job fairs and open house events. In the coming days and weeks, we will be hosting career events virtually, using our online chat tools so that we may continue our hiring practice safely and securely. You can find available virtual career events at https://career-events.leidos.com.

We are using telephone meetings and online chats via Brazen to conduct interviews and hiring discussions, and we are offering options for video interviews so that you can have a virtual face to face meeting with your potential new leader. We do not conduct interviews or extend offers via text or chat based social media, such as WhatsApp or MySpace.

Leidos will never ask you to provide payment-related information at any part of the employment application process, nor will Leidos ever advance money as part of the hiring process. And Leidos will communicate with you only through emails that are generated by Leidos.com automated system. If you receive an email purporting to be from Leidos that asks for payment-related information or any other personal information, please report the email to Chris Scalia, Leidos’ Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition, at [email protected].

As a company, as a country, as a world, we have confronted challenging moments before. We are confident that, guided by our values and the strength of our community as well as the commitment we have to the important work we do each day, we will find our way through this time together. We will do this with the care and concern for one another and the common good that defines. Please keep those impacted by the virus in your thoughts.

Description

Job Description:

Are you ready to join Leidos all-star team? Through training, teamwork, and exposure to challenging technical work, let Leidos show how to accelerate your career path.

The Leidos Innovations Center has an exciting opening for you, our next Junior UI/UX Designer, to assist with the design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized micro-services architecture for the D3P program.  The DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) program is a next generation machine learning pipeline platform that is providing cutting edge data enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to expanding base of Defense and Intelligence Community members.

You will work closely with the D3P chief architect, systems engineers, software engineers, and data scientists to provide UI design and User Experience support and concepts for the end-user-facing multi-media search and data exploitation system working in our Bethesda, MD office.  D3P is advancing the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles.

This is you:
•    Work with the team using a Release-based-scrum and drive research activities, user engagements, usability testing, derive insights, generate concepts, communicate those concepts visually, and work with developers and product managers to ensure their successful development.
•    Work on cross-functional teams of experts in design, system engineering, technical architecture, software engineering and data science to deliver digital products and services for the customer.
•    Create user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, conduct usability testing, and lead focus groups and workshops, all of which will require a combination of technical and communication skills.
•    Participate in a release-based design process understanding the user journey, framing challenges/issues from a UX perspective, create compelling user stories, and develop innovative methods and practices to maximize user engagement and D3P usage.

This is you:
•    Bachelors Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in information technology and intelligence or data analytics applications or 4 additional years may be used in lieu of degree.
•    Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a Polygraph.
•    Solid visual and design skills to create concepts and prototypes.  You will work with D3P team members to develop clear and powerful experiences for users, peers, managers, and agency executives.
•    Superior attention to details and impeccable documentation on design processes, design standards, and guidelines for component and patterns.
•    A desire for learning new things, but also experience in UX practice areas (experience strategy, service design, interaction design, visual design, or design research).
•    Experience with one or more low-fidelity wireframe tools (Balsamic, Sketch).
•    Experience with one or more high-fidelity pixel perfect prototype tools (AdobeXD, Axure).
•    Excellent team player and collaborator.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:
•    Experience working with Intelligence Community analysts and operators.
•    Experience working with systems and software engineers in an Agile release-based planning process.
