The Health Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Security specialist to work in our Gaithersburg, Maryland office. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Military and Family Life Counselors Program mission of supporting our nation's heroes. In support of this program, the applicant will be part of a team of personnel security specialists assisting in the Public Trust background investigation process ensuring the successful onboarding of new counselors, as well as, completing contract requirements for current on contract staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Performs general office work which may include reviewing and preparing government security forms for submission, data entry, filing and organizing, and related work.
- Maintenance of Personnel Security Databases to track candidate progress.
- Security Shared Mailbox Maintenance.
- Sends and manages receipt of security documents submitted from applicants.
- Reviews all required paperwork and documentation to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submission to the government for processing.
- Contacts applicants or Sub Company Points of Contact via telephone and/or email to obtain additional information and assist with Security form completion.
Minimum Requirements:
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are a must.
- Must be able to proofread for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and format.
- Ability to enter data efficiently, timely, and correctly in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in administrative tasks, including but not limited to answering phone calls and scanning documents.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment are essential, as well as the ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal information.
- Must be able to compare data across multiple forms and applications to ensure consistency.
- Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment are essential.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Proven ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers, subordinates, high-ranking officials, and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- Computer literacy; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and data entry.
Additional experience but not required:
- Prior experience in Personnel Security is a plus but not required.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $78,000.00 - $105,300.00Covid Guidance
